Did you Know?

That Abbotswick House of Prayer is here to help you find peace, tranquillity and personal space, to pray or just be…

Set in 14 acres of beautiful grounds, the house is open everyday (except Mondays and during the month of August) from 10.30am to 6.30pm and the access to the grounds is until 9pm during summer time.

It has space where you can relax, a chapel for personal prayer and two meetings rooms.

The House of Prayer, otherwise known as Abbotswick, can provide hospitality to those wishing to make a quiet retreat. It has eight rooms, most with en-suite shower facilities with homemade meals provided at very reasonable donation rates. It can also accommodate groups for retreats and days of prayer and contemplation, confirmation groups, family days, etc.

Sunday 19th November, Abbotswick, Mass for the Holy Souls. In the makeshift “building works chapel” Mass will be celebrated, especially for those with ashes interred at Abbotswick, and for loved ones remembered here. The grounds will be open from 1.00pm, and there will be refreshments after Mass, along with a tour of the main house so you can see the building works to date. All are welcome. Quote of the week:

Prayer is not asking. Prayer is putting oneself in the hands of God, at his disposition, and listening to his voice in the depth of our hearts.

Mother Teresa of Calcutta
