How can I help?

The community at Abbotswick would not be able to operate in such a welcoming way without the support of many friends and volunteers.

The sisters are immensely indebted to them for their hard work, recognising at the same time the need for still more people to come forward and help them as their ministry increases.

The House of Prayer is reliant on your generosity in order to continue providing and developing the services it has been giving for the last 20 years and so that it can truly become ‘the praying heart of the Diocese’.

If you would like to support Abbotswick in any way at all, please download one of our Friends Forms*. On it you will find options for helping at different levels; spiritually, practically or financially.

In particular we are currently looking for volunteers:

  • Keen gardeners to help Paul and Gavin maintain the grounds
  • Extra help for Ann and the sisters with the housework
  • A cook to help when we have groups
  • A plumber and electrician to offer their services
  • Sponsors for forthcoming projects (details to follow)

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us on 01277 373959 should you have any questions regarding any of the above.

There are a number of other ways in which you can help the House of Prayer, both spiritually and financially. They are explained in more detail in their individual sections.
